Every Fourth of July, Marietta comes alive.
The streets fill with families. Kids wave excitedly from the sidewalks. Local businesses, community groups, and organizations proudly make their way through downtown, celebrating the freedoms we enjoy and the community we call home.
For the fifth year in a row, our team at Up Up and Away was honored to be part of Marietta’s Let Freedom Ring Parade.
While our trucks usually spend their days hauling away junk, one morning each July they get a different assignment: roll through downtown Marietta decked out in red, white, and blue, wave to thousands of smiling faces, collecting trash from parade watchers along the way. Empty water bottles, trash from the kiddo’s snack – you name it, we’ll snag it!
It’s become one of our favorite traditions.
At Up Up and Away, we’ve always believed that being a local business means being an active part of the community.
The Let Freedom Ring Parade gives us the chance to celebrate alongside the neighbors, customers, friends, and local businesses who have supported us throughout the years. Every customer who’s trusted us with a cleanout, dumpster rental, demolition project, or junk removal job has helped us grow into the company we are today.
Participating in the parade is our way of saying one simple thing:

As we looked through photos from previous parades, we couldn’t help but reflect on how much has changed over the past five years.
As our company has grown, so has our appreciation for events like this that bring the entire community together.
By year four, participating in the parade had become a tradition our entire team looked forward to. It’s one of those events that reminds us why we love being a local business.
This year’s parade marked our fifth consecutive year participating, and we’re just as excited to be there today as we were the first time.
Looking back through these photos reminds us that while trucks, team members, and even our business have changed over the years, one thing hasn’t:

When we participated in our first parade, Up Up and Away looked very different than it does today.
Since then, we’ve had the privilege of serving thousands of homeowners, contractors, businesses, property managers, and real estate professionals across Metro Atlanta.
Along the way, we’ve been humbled to earn more than 1,700 five-star Google reviews and to be voted Best of Cobb for the second consecutive year.
While those milestones mean a great deal to us, they’re really a reflection of something much bigger: a community that continues to trust us.
We’re incredibly grateful for every phone call, every referral, every review, and every opportunity to serve.
To everyone who lined the streets this year, volunteered behind the scenes, organized another incredible event, or simply came out to celebrate with family and friends –
