Junk removal is a young industry that has traditionally been dominated by the ‘cash is king; mindset. Cash has its benefits, but in a modern age there are other options that can be a better fit for the average consumer. The best home services companies are the ones that are committed to providing the best solutions to their clients. Payment options are a huge area where home services can give their customer more opportunities to make the decisions that are best for them.
While it is becoming more rare that this payment method is overlooked, there are some companies who do not accept credit cards. Accepting credit cards is step 1 to making sure customers are able to pay in the way that works best for them. 69% of consumers prefer to pay with credit or debit cards which makes accepting cards critical in this day and age. The second step of accepting credit cards is making sure not to pass credit card surcharges on to the customer. While I will leave the legal side of this question to the lawyers, from a business standpoint charging an extra fee to allow customers to pay with their card sends the wrong message. When I go to a store that adds an extra fee when I want to pay with card, it tells me that they don’t value my business enough to make it seamless for me. That is why at Up Up and Away we make sure that all credit card fees are understood and built into our pricing as a whole instead of asking clients to handle that separately.
Sometimes customers are in a tight spot where they need to clean out the home they are selling but do not need to be spending large amounts while their mortgage is being finalized on their new property. This is where pay over time agreements, or financing options, come into play. These options allow a client to handle a large project with out having to pay all of the cash up front. Once all of the real estate deals are done and they have a check in the bank, they can pay off the balance. At Up Up and Away each of our clients in Cobb County and the Metro Atlanta area receive an option to use a financing payment method on their invoice, however we only discuss it with those clients doing large projects to prepare a property for sale. While financing option cost more to the company, we feel it is important to give our clients as many options as possible so that they are empowered to make the best financial decisions they can for their unique situation.
There are a few more payment methods that we offer our clients to give them more options.
The first is the option to pay at closing. This is reserved for customers that have found our company through a mutually trusted real estate agent and are set to close in less than 7 days. For those last minute clean ups to get a property over the finish line, we are happy to allow them to cut us a check at the closing table.
Secondly, for large projects we do also offer ACH transfers. These transfers take a little more time but are often the preferred way of payment for large sums, or large companies.
Our goal at Up Up and Away Junk Hauling is to provide the best experience possible for the customer. While we put a tremendous amount of effort into customer service, communication, reliability, and competency, our financial options are a critical piece of the puzzle as well. We work hard to make sure that there is a suitable option available to every one of our clients that makes them feel valued and confident that they can defeat junk!
