Meet Our Junk Hauling Heroes: Maddy Furr

If you’ve called Up Up and Away Junk Hauling lately, chances are you’ve already talked with Maddy. She’s one of the friendly voices helping clients get scheduled, stay informed, and feel taken care of from the very first moment they reach out. In our Meet the Junk Hauling Hero series, we love highlighting the people behind the scenes who keep this place running. Today, meet Maddy.

1. What do you enjoy most about being a CSR with Up Up and Away?

I enjoy being able to work while keeping Easton, my son!

2. What’s something clients might be surprised to learn about what happens behind the scenes in the office?

That there are so many moving parts that go into our everyday scheduling! Between Atlanta traffic, firm arrival times, dump locations… It truly does take a team to puzzle piece it all together.

3. When you’re not helping clients schedule their hauls, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

When I am not helping clients schedule their hauls I enjoy spending time with my family and getting outside.

4. Do you have any hobbies or creative outlets you love?

I really enjoy going on walks, and playing the piano when I get free time.

5. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I broke my ankle cliff jumping, so I have a plate and nine and a half screws in my ankle. One broke and they took half of it out!

6. Do you have a favorite Up Up and Away memory or moment so far?

My favorite Up Up and Away memory would be our party in the summer when we played paintball. Can’t wait to do it again!

7. If you had to describe the Up Up and Away team in three words, what would they be?

Energetic, determined, personable.

8. What’s one item you hear about most often being the biggest pain for clients to deal with?

Probably a hot tub. Depending on its size and weight we’ve had to cut them in multiple pieces. It’s a hassle for clients to deal with an unwanted hot tub!

9. What’s something that always makes you laugh during the workday?

When our guys send pictures in the chat about their day. We have a great group that loves to joke around!

10. What makes you most proud to be part of Up Up and Away Junk Hauling?

I am proud to be at Up Up and Away because of the great work environment. I have never worked anywhere that the people are so friendly and helpful about everything. This is the first job I have ever had that I actually look forward to clocking in and working.
