Meet Our Junk Hauling Heroes: Coleman Gavulic

At Up Up and Away Junk Hauling, our team is in the field every day helping customers solve real problems. Today, we’re introducing you to one of those faces you might see on a job site: Coleman Gavulic, one of our team leads.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to join the team!

My name is Coleman Gavulic, and my favorite food is pretty much any form of rice – fried, plain, yellow, you name it. I joined the team through a recommendation from our Operations Manager, Josh Early, and I’m really glad I did.

2. Can you describe your role and what a typical day looks like for you?

I’m one of the team leads here at Up Up and Away. A typical day is usually pretty consistent and straightforward. Honestly, it often feels less like work and more like hanging out with friends while helping people out.

3. What are some of the most interesting or unusual items you’ve hauled?

Two things stand out the most: a large metal giraffe sculpture and a decorative hornet’s nest. You never know what you’re going to come across in this job!

4. Share a memorable or rewarding moment from your time here.

My first piano removal really sticks with me. I knew it would be heavy, but I wasn’t expecting just how heavy it actually was. Getting it out successfully was challenging, but also very satisfying.

5. What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced on the job, and how did you overcome them?

Large jobs, like office cleanouts, can be challenging because there’s so much happening at once. The key for me is staying focused on one task at a time – finish one thing, then move on to the next.

6. What do you enjoy most about working in junk hauling?

Finding strange and interesting items is definitely one of the best parts of the job. Every day is a little different!

7. What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not hauling junk?

I enjoy playing games and going out to eat with my friends – some of whom I actually work with here.

8. How would you describe the team dynamic at Up Up and Away Junk Hauling?

It’s kind of like summer camp. Everyone has their role, but at the end of the day, people enjoy being around each other and working together.

9. What do you think is the key to providing excellent customer service in our industry?

Attention to detail is huge. I think that’s one of the main reasons our company stands out – we consistently provide excellent customer service, and customers notice that.

10. What impact do you hope Up Up and Away Junk Hauling makes in the community?

I hope we help take some stress off people’s plates. Whether it’s getting rid of junk that’s been piling up or helping someone clean out a home to prepare it for sale, reducing stress is the biggest impact I hope we make. There’s already enough stress to go around.
