Looking back: approaching 11 years with purpose

It’s hard to believe we’re creeping up on eleven years of hauling junk, transforming spaces, and leaving smiles behind. As we look back over the years, we’re reminded of the journey – from hauling a few toilets in the early days to managing multi-load cleanups across Metro Atlanta. 

In our ten-year reflection, we shared how those humble beginnings grew into a business built on white-collar service in a blue-collar industry, shaped by client feedback, grit, and trust. Now, as we head into year 11, those same convictions drive us forward – alongside the HERO core values that have always set our course:

Hard Work – There’s no substitute for rolling up your sleeves and getting it done.
Encouragement – From the first call to the final haul, we’re lifting up each other and everyone we serve.
Reliability – Being there when we say we will, doing what we promise, no surprises.

These values aren’t just slogans – they guide every decision, every team interaction, and every job we complete. As we’ve scaled, added technology, grown our teams, and expanded services like dumpster rentals, we’ve kept the heart of our business consistent.

Our heart in the community

At Up Up and Away Junk Hauling, community isn’t a checkbox – it’s who we are. Each year, our team proudly rolls up our sleeves for local outreach events that make an impact far beyond junk removal.

• Thanks for Giving with the Center for Family Resources – Every fall for the past several years, our trucks are packed with purpose, helping collect, deliver, and distribute truck fulls of donated food and supplies for families in need. It’s one of our favorite annual reminders of how small acts – lifted together – can fill tables and hearts across Cobb County. Click here to learn more about Thanks for Giving.
• Touch-a-Truck events – Our green trucks make their way to family events throughout Metro Atlanta, giving kids (and plenty of adults) a chance to climb aboard and learn what junk removal is all about. These moments spark curiosity, connection, and a lot of superhero smiles.
• Ongoing local partnerships – From neighborhood cleanups to community days, we’re honored to lend our time and trucks wherever we can make a difference.

What’s next as we enter year 11?

• Deepening client experience – Refining scheduling, communication, and responsiveness to make junk removal even easier.
• Broadening services – More efficient dumpster rentals, expanding our light demolition services, tackling more large scale commercial and industrial cleanouts, and improving our recycling pathways
• Staying rooted in HERO – Keeping our priorities aligned with Hard Work, Encouragement, Reliability, and Open-Handedness.
• Investing in people and purpose – From team development to local impact, we’re committed to growing the right way.
