“Thanks For Giving”: supporting Cobb’s families in need

At Up Up and Away Junk Hauling we hope to leave a positive mark on our community. The holiday season is always full of opportunities to give back and serve those in need. This year marks our fifth year we’ve had the pleasure of serving alongside the Center for Family Resources (CFR) during their annual “Thanks For Giving” initiative.

Designed to ensure that families in Cobb County enjoy a warm, traditional Thanksgiving meal, this program depends on contributions from local businesses, volunteers, and caring community members. With an ambitious goal to reach over 1,000 families this season, CFR requires a strong team to manage the logistics of gathering, packing, and distributing donated food.

Our role in the event is all about making the process smoother, faster, and more accessible for those involved. Our team steps in to handle some of the heavy lifting, from delivering bulk food donations to helping distribute pre-packed meals directly to the families who need them most during the week of Thanksgiving. It’s a privilege to be part of an effort that rallies the community together, sharing generosity and kindness.
